Jon Thompson, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Thompson is a separations scientist, entrepreneur, and inventor. As a scientist, he has a strong technical background and industry experience in analytical instrumentation, in-vitro diagnostics, biotech, mining, and homeland security markets. During his career, he has helped numerous companies with market development, strategic marketing, and worldwide business-to-business alliance formation (including international markets).
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, a Master of Science degree in Chemistry, and a Doctor of Chemistry degree–all from the University of Minnesota.
Doug Fryer, PhD
Manager of Quality and Research
Dr. Fryer has over a decade of experience in developing and running analytical HPLC, ICP, and sample preparation methods in an ISO environment. Doug has been active at United Science as a research and development scientist and was instrumental in the development of several United Science products.
Nathan Thompson, CPA
Chief Operations and Financial Officer
Nathan is a financial professional with 19 years of corporate-level experience in both public and private enterprises. He has worked in and managed a broad range of corporate accounting and finance functions, including internal audits, international consolidations, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, and international M&A support.
Mr. Thompson received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He also holds several professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor.
Melvin Welch, J.D.
General Counsel
Mel Welch has worked for the Minnesota Appellate Public Defender, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, and Welch Law Office. He has managed hundreds of complex legal matters for a variety of clients on numerous legal issues affecting business formation and operations, contracts, and civil disputes.
Mel obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degrees in History and Russian Language & Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
